Creating in Glass

Moving Light, Shaping Color

Working with a variety of glass—clear, patterned, beveled, textured—Liane enhances the subtleties of changing light. She often adds other mediums—such as crystals and slices of agate—to increase visual interest.
Says Liane, “I was drawn to working with stained glass because it is a moving art form. The glass within each piece perpetually changes, depending on where you place or hang it. And as the light shifts in position and intensity, the look is magical.”
Her range of colors, patterns, and textures has produced a variety of lustrous forms. From the simple elegance of flower “suncatchers” to the elaborate intricacies of window panels, each of her creations has its own personality.

Collaborating: Art as Co-Creation

Unlike many artists who craft their works in solitude, Liane involves her patrons in the creative process.
“If you commission a work from me,” Liane says, “I will ask you several questions. What is the feel you want from this piece? Where will you place it? How much light do you want to beam through? Then I invite you to pick the pattern, colors and glass you find most pleasing. This way we are co-creators of the final product.”
